# Where I worked and _what I did._

I started by building Android apps myself. Later I led teams, became CTO and built a platform function. These are the problems we worked through, the decisions I made and the things I would do differently.

**Mandate:** I built a platform function from zero and grew it across mobile, web, backend and QA, leading up to 12 people. We kept shared systems running through reorganisations, helped engineers take more ownership and used AI to remove repeated work.

**Scope:** Up to 12 direct reports across iOS, Android, Web, Ruby backend and QA. A production-critical Server-Driven UI engine, a multi-platform component system and roughly eight consuming product teams.

**What I bring from this role:** Leading a platform, developing engineers without a promotion path, organising work across teams and introducing AI inside a regulated enterprise.

**What I bring from this role:** Moving from engineer to lead, reusable Android architecture, delivery the business could plan around and written growth criteria.
